Some bad news came out of Chicago Bears training camp on Saturday. The injury report is starting to fill up, and it includes one that is serious enough to warrant monitoring.
During practice Saturday, N’Keal Harry went down with a significant injury. Per reports, Harry suffered what happens to be a left foot/ankle injury. Trainers and a couple of teammates helped Harry off the field and into the building.
Likewise, offensive tackle Braxton Jones left practice early with an ailment of his own. However, Matt Eberflus says it’s minor and Jones will be day-to-day.
Additionally, the following Bears players were absent from practice on Saturday:
- Kyler Gordon
- Duke Shelley
- Kindle Vildor
- Thomas Graham
- Velus Jones Jr.
- Byron Pringle
- Dante Pettis
- James O’Shaughnessy
- Angelo Blackson
- Robert Quinn
- Riley Reiff
- Cody Whitehair
During his press conference, Eberflus said Kyler Gordon and Velus Jones Jr. are day-to-day with undisclosed injuries. However, Byron Pringle is dealing with a quad injury that will sideline him a few weeks.
Similarly, Robert Quinn was excused from practice. Riley Reiff and Cody Whitehair were absent due to veteran days off.
The majority of the injury report likely won’t impact Week 1 of the regular season, which is good news for the Chicago Bears. However, N’Keal Harry and Byron Pringle are worth keeping a close eye on. The Bears’ wide receiver room is already thin, so losing two at the same time would be a tough blow to the offense.
