For the past three games, Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. Given Robinson’s history of commenting on moving on from the Bears due to contract issues, fans thought he may have played his last game for Chicago. But during a Thursday press conference, Robinson said he expects to play in Sunday night's game vs. the Packers.
With Justin Fields also returning, Robinson’s presence will help provide help down the field. Fields will have to get rid of the ball quickly to avoid hits that could reaggravate his rib injury.
The Bears have been averaging a league-worst 173.8 passing yards per game. While Robinson’s numbers have been down all year, he will need to start producing more if he wants a bigger contract with another team. Darnell Mooney has been the only legitimate down-field threat for the Bears with Robinson out.
Now that Allen Robinson is back and a more developed Fields will be under center, the Bears can truly see if they have anything worth salvaging on offense the rest of this season.
