Just one day after the 53-man roster deadline, the Chicago Bears were busy making moves and adjusting portions of the original 53-man roster. Earlier in the day, the Bears brought in two receivers. The team signed WR Breshad Perriman and claimed WR Nsimba Webster off waivers from the 49ers. Both were added to the active roster.

That move, along with a few others, created a bit of a chain reaction within the Bears organization. In addition, the Bears did not lose a single player on waivers, so many of the names waived were added to the practice squad.

My fellow On Tap Sports Net colleague, Aalap Desai, was on top of all of these moves today, tracking them feverishly. Now, using Aalap's guide, let's review the moves the Bears made on Wednesday as they shape their roster for Week One against the Los Angeles Rams.

Practice Squad

As mentioned, numerous players were waived by the Bears on Tuesday. However, with all players going unclaimed by other teams, the Bears added a few of those names to their practice squad. In all, here is how the Bears' practice squad shaped up:

  • LB Charles Snowden
  • DB Thomas Graham Jr.
  • RB Artavis Pierce
  • DL Sam Kamara
  • WR Isaiah Coulter
  • K Brian Johnson
  • RB Ryan Nall
  • OL Dieter Eiselen
  • DL Auzoyah Alufohai
  • WR Dazz Newsome
  • WR Jon'Vea Johnson
  • OL Arlington Ambright
  • DB Teez Tabor

All of these moves were confirmed by either Brad Biggs, Tom Pelissero, Aaron Wilson, or Jason Lieser. The Bears elected to send fifth- and sixth-round picks Dazz Newsome and Thomas Graham Jr. to the practice squad. This will allow both players to develop without the pressure of needing to produce on the active roster.

Signings/Waiver Claims

In addition to the Perriman and Webster moves, the Bears also re-signed CB Artie Burns and CB Marqui Christian. Both players were originally cut when the Bears announced their 53-man roster on Tuesday. Fans were very concerned about the cornerback position in the Bears' locker room. However, the Bears boosted the position a little bit, even if it is with players who are wild cards.

Injured Reserve

The Bears' IR list features two notable names. Both OL Teven Jenkins and LB Danny Trevathan were added to the IR. Both players will miss at least three weeks before they can be added back to the active roster. In addition, CB Tre Roberson and DT LaCale London were both added to the season-ending IR. Both players will not be able to play this season but will remain with the organization.

In addition to the above moves, DB Jordan Lucas reached an injury settlement with the Bears and was released.

Perhaps the most puzzling move on Wednesday was the Bears waiving WR Rodney Adams. Adams was easily the best receiver for the Bears during the preseason and proved he deserves to be on a NFL roster. However, instead of Damiere Bryd, J.P. Holtz, or a different receiver being cut in favor of the additions, Adams was selected as the odd man out.

The Bears may be hoping Adams clears waivers and they can sign him to a practice squad spot. However, after a great showing during this past preseason, it's hard to think he'll clear waivers and remain with the Bears organization.

It's hard to believe that the Bears are completely done making roster moves. The Bears begin the season in Los Angeles to take on the revamped Rams on September 12. Before then, its safe to assume the Bears will continue to shuffle the roster around before their appearance on Sunday Night Football.
