Bears Place LB Danny Trevathan on IR
The Chicago Bears will be without another defensive piece this Sunday. On Friday, the Bears placed linebacker Danny Trevathan on the injured reserve.
With Trevathan now on IR, his season has come to an end. The Kentucky product appeared in only five games this season for the Bears, making one start. In addition, Trevathan posted the worst numbers of his career other than his injury-plagued 2014 season. He posted 19 total tackles and one tackle for loss in 2021.
Aside from the Trevathan news, the Bears also officially signed Bruce Irvin and added Cassius Marsh to the active roster. Reports surfaced Thursday indicating Irvin was indeed signing with the Bears. Irvin's addition will bolster the team's pass rush in wake of Khalil Mack's injury.

Cassius Marsh was infamously called for the controversial taunting penalty against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. The call may have cost Chicago the game, and the call resulted in a few days of disbelief from fans over the nature of the call and Marsh's fine. That said, Marsh played well in the game overall, recording a sack and five tackles in the loss.
The Bears host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM CST at Soldier Field as the Bears do their best to slow down former MVP Lamar Jackson.
