Following a loss to Green Bay on Sunday Night Football, the Bears placed Mario Edwards Jr. on the COVID-19 list.

The Bears have yet to divulge if Mario Edwards Jr. tested positive or had a close contact, but nevertheless, he joins Elijah Wilkinson on the reserve list.

Edwards Jr. returned to the Bears after missing the previous two games. He's played in nine games thus far in 2021 and recorded 1.5 sacks and seven total tackles.

Mario Edwards Jr. is having a rough 2021. His performance has been lacking and he was suspended for the first two games of the year. He's also been dealing with an alleged assault and battery case in North Carolina dating back to last year. Needless to say, Edwards Jr. hasn't been an impressive depth piece on this Bears defense.

Now that the Bears put Mario Edwards Jr. on the COVID-19 list, he's in danger of having played his last snap in 2021. The Bears only have four games left, with a record of 4-9, and their next game is another primetime spotlight on Monday Night Football against the Vikings.
