The Chicago Bears brought back one of their own on Thursday. The team re-signed safety DeAndre-Houston Carson to a one-year deal.
Houston-Carson, a sixth-round pick in 2016, has made his mark on special teams for the Bears. Now he adds much-needed depth at the safety position. Furthermore, the 27-year-old is coming off his best year statistically in 2020.
Additionally, Houston-Carson helped the Bears secure wins in back-to-back weeks this past season. In Week 5, he broke up a late fourth-quarter pass against Tampa Bay. The following week, he sealed the game with an interception against Carolina.
