The Chicago Bears brought several players up to the active roster ahead of their matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Dazz Newsome will make his NFL debut tonight on Monday Night Football. Newsome played four years for North Carolina. He caught 188 passes for over 2,400 yards and scored 18 receiving touchdowns. He also rushed for over 170 yards and two touchdowns.

Dazz Newsome, a highly anticipated fifth-round draft pick, had surgery to fix a broken collarbone before the preseason. There was a lot of hope surrounding the young prospect heading into 2021. His injury and a delayed start to his NFL career made for an unfortunate set of circumstances.

It's also worth noting the Bears flexed four defensive backs to the active roster for this game. The secondary is decimated due to the COVID-19 protocol. These practice squad players will likely get some playing time tonight, providing depth and relief for the starters remaining on the roster.

Finally, the Bears will start Germain Ifedi at right tackle while Teven Jenkins gets his first career start at left tackle. Ifedi spent most of this season on injured reserve and returned to practice last week. The Bears roster is coming together, finally, after the entire week leading up to this game was questionable. Having bodies on the field is a luxury the Bears almost couldn't afford.
