After several weeks of interviews and deliberation, the Chicago Bears may have found their next general manager. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears are expected to hire Chiefs' Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles.

Who is Ryan Poles?

Ryan Poles played football for Boston College. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent but did not play in the NFL. Poles spent the last 13 years with the Kansas City Chiefs and served in various roles in their front office. He's worked with player personnel departments as well as scouting but is finally ready to take on a bigger role as general manager.

Over the last two general manager cycles in the NFL, Ryan Poles' name appeared on multiple teams’ radars. He interviewed with the Carolina Panthers last season and also had interviews with the New York Giants this season. The Minnesota Vikings were expected to take a run at him as well, but the Bears reportedly beat them to the punch.

The Ryan Poles era with the Chicago Bears has begun and hopefully, it's better than the last Ryan to lead the organization. His first decision as the Bears' new general manager will be hiring their next head coach.
