Prior to kickoff against the Atlanta Falcons, the Chicago Bears got some good news. After dealing with a hip injury and limited reps in practice, offensive lineman Teven Jenkins is active against Atlanta. Velus Jones Jr. is also active after being a healthy scratch previously.
Bears Inactive Players
Among the good news with Teven Jenkins, there are several players out of this game.
- N'Keal Harry
- Dane Cruikshank
- Lamar Jackson
- Justin Layne
- Ja'Tyre Carter
- Alex Leatherwood
The Chicago Bears have had a recent surge of players missing practice with injuries and illnesses. It isn't entirely surprising to see several players remain out against the Falcons considering the Bears don't have a bye week until December.
How Will The Bears Run Game Operate?
Having Teven Jenkins back is a huge component of the Bears' success on the ground. After the Bears placed Khalil Herbert, the most explosive running back Chicago has, on injured reserve, there were questions surrounding the offense.
David Montgomery's role on this offense got immensely larger. Although they elevated Darrynton Evans to the active roster, there will likely be more usage of Trestan Ebner.
But it's also possible the Bears use Velus Jones Jr. in the run game as well. They've shown plays like that previously and although Jones Jr. struggled early, he still has the potential to be an explosive utility man for this Chicago Bears offense.
