Bears' WR Dazz Newsome on the PUP List

The Bears added a second offensive player to the PUP list today.

Shortly after the news about Tarik Cohen, the Bears announced they placed rookie WR Dazz Newsome on the PUP list as well.

Dazz Newsome injured his shoulder during a practice in June. He had a surgery to repair a broken collar bone. Newsome has not been given any season-ending diagnosis. This is likely precautionary with the rookie coming out of North Carolina. Dazz was originally projected to return around July 27, so this seems to be right on schedule. The Bears placed him on the PUP list likely due to minor setbacks or precautionary ease.

This news comes only one day after the Bears traded fellow wide receiver Anthony Miller to the Houston Texans. It leaves the Bears' wide receiving core in tact, but beginning to lack in depth. After the loss of Miller and the news about Newsome, the wide receivers remaining are as follows:

Needless to say, this news is unfortunate, but it's still very early in the year. Training camp is only beginning and Dazz Newsome on the PUP list could be beneficial for him to really get back to full health. The wide receivers will be in a good spot as long as no further injuries occur.
