Chicago Tribune writer Brad Biggs reported that the Chicago Bears have given defensive lineman and fan favorite Akiem Hicks permission to seek out a trade for his services.
Akiem Hicks joined the Chicago Bears via free agency in the 2016 season and has accumulated 27.5 sacks in his five-year stint with the club. Hicks made the Pro Bowl in 2018 after he and the Bears defense helped lead the Chicago Bears to a 12-4 record.
Though he is still in Chicago as of now, the defense took another major blow when the Bears cut cornerback Kyle Fuller to save $11 million dollars.
Hicks is entering the final year of his deal with the Chicago Bears and is slated to make $10.5 million dollars this season. It seems the Chicago Bears are heading towards another rebuild instead of a competitive season.
