On Friday afternoon, the Chicago Bears made a few roster moves in order to activate Eddie Goldman.

Goldman was previously in the COVID-19 protocol and missed several days of practice.

The Bears released Thomas Ives, a Hinsdale native, to make room on the roster for Goldman. Ives has not yet played a snap in the NFL.

The Bears originally signed Ives as an undrafted free agent in 2019 but cut him before the season began. The team also utilized him on the practice squad in 2020.

After activating Goldman, the Bears' defense is one step closer to full health. His presence at the nose tackle position was greatly missed last season, so hopefully his return can help restore the defensive line to its 2018 dominance.
