Chicago Bears' head coach Matt Eberflus provided a pair of injury updates regarding offensive players on Wednesday. The team won't place Justin Fields on injured reserve and the second-year quarterback has been cleared to practice. Additionally, Lucas Patrick is done for the season.
Justin Fields suffered a left shoulder injury in the Bears' Week 11 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. A slew of updates indicating varying levels of severity have since come to light, but Eberflus confirmed that the Bears will not place Fields on injured reserve. The QB's status remains day-to-day, but he has been cleared to practice.
On the offensive line, Lucas Patrick will not return this season. Eberflus said the veteran guard underwent surgery a few weeks ago to repair a toe injury. Patrick last suited up in Week 7 when the Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.
