Ryan Poles is starting to shape the Chicago Bears roster. His first major move was trading Khalil Mack to the Chargers. Additionally, the Bears will release running back Tarik Cohen and veteran linebacker Danny Trevathan.
Trevathan appeared in only five games last year, logging eight solo tackles and zero QB hits. Due to his injury issues and decline in performance, this move doesn't come as much of a surprise.
While the news broke today, the Bears will likely release Danny Trevathan post-June 1. Doing so allows the for a better dead cap hit situation.
Danny Trevathan gave all he could for the Chicago Bears during his six years on the lakefront. He was part of the defensive core that helped the Bears move from the John Fox years to the 2018 NFC North title team. Fans will always remember him for his tough play and leadership on and off the field.
