Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles continues to clean house and build his organization the way he wants to. One day after trading Khalil Mack, the Bears will release Eddie Goldman. He is only 28 years old and should have a good shot at finding another team fairly quickly. According to Ian Rapoport, the Bears were actively trying to trade Goldman but couldn't find a partner to make the deal.
Eddie Goldman As A Chicago Bear
Eddie Goldman opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic but returned to the Bears in 2021. There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the defensive lineman heading into the last season though. He didn't show up for minicamp and the narrative was starting to build that he might have been finished with football.
That finally changed in July when he was back in the Chicagoland area training and eventually showing up to team activities.
Eddie Goldman has spent his entire six-year NFL career with the Chicago Bears. They selected Goldman 39th overall in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played in 81 total games and recorded 13 sacks while posting a career-high 27 solo tackles twice in 2017 and 2018.
