The Chicago Bears received some good news as part of Thursday's injury report for Week 5. Running back David Montgomery returned to practice in a limited capacity after sitting out Wednesday with an ankle injury.

Montgomery suffered the injury in the Bears' Week 3 game against the Houston Texans. He has been a mainstay on the injury report since and did not suit up in Week 4 against the New York Giants.

In addition to David Montgomery, two other players practiced in a limited capacity: TE Ryan Griffin (achilles) and DL Justin Jones (hip).

Furthermore, LB Matt Adams (hamstring) and DB Jaylon Jones (illness) fully returned to practice Thursday. Adams was limited and Jones sat out Wednesday.

Of those who did not practice, Jaylon Johnson is the most notable name. The third-year defensive back remains out with a quad injury that has limited him to two games this season. Fellow DB Dane Cruikshank (hamstring) and LB Sterling Weatherford (illness) also did not practice.
