Teven Jenkins made his 2022 Chicago Bears training camp debut about a week ago. But with conflicting information surrounding the second-year offensive lineman out of Oklahoma State, questions arise. What exactly do the Bears plan to do with Jenkins? Will they trade him as some reports have stated?
Teven Jenkins Is At Bears Practice But To What End?
After refuting several reports of a possible clash with the Chicago Bears' front office, Teven Jenkins is at training camp. This time, the Bears are trying him out at right guard. He's taking his snaps in practice with the second- and third-string players, but it's a different spot on the offensive line for Jenkins nonetheless.
'Big Ant' Herron of NBC Sports made a great point about Jenkins' situation and why this is the first time we're seeing him get reps at right guard.
It makes a lot of sense when pondering why the Bears haven't done this with Teven Jenkins yet, especially just in practice. But with a ton of missed time, a bad back, and what appears to be a problem with authority, Jenkins doesn't fit the mold of an adaptive personality so far.
However, Herron makes a salient point. What can we expect from Jenkins after he's missed so much time both on the field for games and at Halas Hall during Bears' training camp?
Are the Chicago Bears going to find a trade partner to deal with Jenkins as some have foreseen? Or is finding a new spot on the offensive line the key to unlocking Jenkins' success and fixing the roster spots in flux as head coach Matt Eberflus said previously?
