Beer Review: Bell's - Expedition Stout

Packed with plenty of rich flavors and a 10.5% ABV punch, Bell's Expedition Stout hits the nail on the head.

Here we go with another stout review. This is still a relatively new style for me, but as I've been sampling quite a few I've quickly realized my favorite. Regular stouts are alright but they just don't quite do it for me. They come off a little dry and lacking in flavor. Now these imperial stouts, that's where it's at. Packed with flavor and a punch, Bell's Expedition hits the nail on the head.

Bell's Expedition Imperial Stout

Expedition has that typical jet black color and it pours a hefty inch and a half of milk chocolate-colored head. The aroma and taste go hand in hand with dark chocolate, roasted malts, espresso, and sweet dark fruits. This is a wonderfully rich, flavorful beer. Listed at 10.5% ABV, it goes down rather smoothly for a Russian imperial stout. This is everything I am looking for in the style and I'm excited to try out more as the stupid season that is winter begins. I'll need it to help warm up the old bones.

Happy Drinking!
