Beer Review: Goose Island Next Coast IPA

While at my local grocery store I stumbled across Goose Island Next Coast IPA. The slick design of the can caught my attention and I thought, why not? Let's give it a shot and see how this goes. I love Goose Island, probably because it was a Chicago staple for so long and I jump on any opportunity to drink one of their beers I have never come across before.

Next Coast poured a see-thru golden-yellow body with a one-finger head that slowly died. Mostly a citric, dirty, earthy hop presence with hints of grapefruit. A little bland but serviceable; I state this simply because the hop characteristics from the aroma seem to be muddled in the beer, and while easily drinkable the flavor can be a little bland.

I do recommend giving it a shot if you like IPA's with fruity overtones. At 7%, a couple of these bad boys can give you that warm and tingly feeling, if you know what I mean.
