Beer For Ball Games

On Monday, baseball fans finally heard the news they have been waiting for. Fans will be in attendance for Opening Day for both the White Sox and the Cubs in Chicago. Amidst the flurry of excitement, Off Color Brewing announced they are releasing a new beer for baseball season. The Northside brewery, known for Apex Predator, now joins the ranks of Goose Island for breweries who have a beer specific for America's past time.

First off, the art on the can is sensational. It is a sketch drawing with a group of field mice playing ball in a Field of Dreams-like setting. It is the perfect look since the White Sox will be in the long awaited Field of Dreams game this year, although this beer is not team specific. This should be a great draw in stores for any baseball fan.

"Beer For Ball Games" is classified as a Cream Ale. While it is only 4.2% ABV, the flavors make the beer intriguing. The malts are 2-Raw, Carmel, Dextrin, Flaked Corn, and Flaked Barley. The Hops in this beer are Nugget, Williamette, and Cascade.

This cream ale should excite beer enthusiasts everywhere since there aren't many prominent cream ales brewed in the Chicagoland area. They are known for fitting in with the vibe of summer, taking consumers back to their childhood with memories of drinking cream soda. A cream ale is very versatile.

In Cincinnati, the famous cream ale Little Kings is on lots of beer menus in the summer. Some places get very creative with it and combine it with different summer flavors, creating incredible combinations such as an orange dreamsicle ale. Surely with Chicago's brewing scene and creativity, people will find a way to incorporate Beer For Ball Games into summery concoctions, making it a staple.

Be sure to try this at Off Color's brewery and patio, The Mousterap, or grab this at the stadium this year!
