The Chicago Blackhawks will be selecting 12th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, which begins Friday.

The draft is delayed one month from its traditional time because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the late finish to the 2021 NHL season. It is the second straight year the draft will be held virtually, with television coverage from NHL Network studios in Secaucus, New Jersey.

The draft will be two days, with the first round at 7 PM Central on Friday, followed by rounds 2-7 Saturday, starting at 10 AM.

The Buffalo Sabres have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to take Chicago Steel alum and Michigan defenseman Owen Power. The expansion Seattle Kraken pick second, followed by the Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils and Columbus Blue Jackets to round out the top five. The Arizona Coyotes forfeited their first-round pick at No. 11 as a result of violating NHL Combine Testing Policy during the 2019-20 season.
