The Chicago Blackhawks enter the second day of the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday with six selections.

The Blackhawks have one pick in the second round (No. 62), two in the fourth (Nos. 105, 108), one in the sixth (No. 172), and two in the seventh (Nos. 204, 216). Chicago had eight total picks until it traded its own second-round pick as part of the Seth Jones trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets prior to the draft Friday.

The Blackhawks do not have a pick in the third or fifth round because of prior trades with the Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks, respectively.

Chicago used its first-round draft pick Friday to select left-handed defenseman Nolan Allan of the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders at No. 32 overall. It's the second time in the past three years the Blackhawks have picked a WHL player in the first round after selecting Kirby Dach of Saskatoon third overall in 2019.

Recent Day 2 History

The Blackhawks have selected at least one goaltender in each of the past three years on the second draft: Alexis Gravel (2018 sixth round), Dominic Basse (2019 sixth round) and Drew Commesso (2020 second round). Chicago picked six defensemen the past two years on the second day of the draft, including four last year. With the amount of depth on defense, forward appears to be a position of focus on the second day this year.
