The Chicago Blackhawks selected Riku Tohila out of Finland with the No. 199 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

Tohila (6-foot-5, 190 pounds) is a right-handed center who scored 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 41 games for JYP U20 of SM-sarja. He did not appear on many scouts' draft radars, but his size up the middle surely offers intrigue.

Tohila becomes the second non-North American player selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2022 NHL Draft. He joins a forward-heavy draft class, as Chicago has only used two of their 11 draft picks this year on defenseman.
