Ahead of tonight's matchup with the Blue Jackets, the Blackhawks have made a couple of roster moves. The club re-assigned forward Michal Teply and defenseman Anton Lindholm from the AHL Rockford IceHogs to the taxi squad.
Teply most recently posted five assists for his native Czech Republic in the 2021 World Junior Championship tournament. Seeing as the Blackhawks played seven defensemen and 11 forwards on Wednesday night in Nashville, Teply could see his first action in an Indianhead sweater in the near future.
The Blackhawks acquired Lindholm along with Nikita Zadorov from the Avalanche in the trade that sent Brandon Saad and Dennis Gilbert to Colorado over the offseason. The 26-year-old blue liner has posted five assists in 66 NHL games over parts of four seasons, all with the Avalanche. He spent most of the 2019-20 season with the AHL Colorado Eagles, where he recorded one goal and two assists over 45 games.
Both taxi squad additions further bolster the Blackhawks roster depth while forwards Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Wallmark as well as defenseman Adam Boqvist remain on the NHL's COVID Protocol list.
