The Chicago Blackhawks will have one participant in the 2022 NHL All-Star Game. Forward Alex DeBrincat earned All-Star honors after compiling 29 points (23 goals, six assists) through 36 games this season.

DeBrincat ranks fourth among all NHL skaters in goals, trailing only Leon Draisaitl (26), Alex Ovechkin (24), and Auston Matthews (24). The Cat is the second-leading Blackhawks scorer behind Patrick Kane (32 points).

Alex DeBrincat's first NHL All-Star nod is well-deserved. In an underwhelming season for the Blackhawks, the 24-year-old forward has been a major bright spot.

Beyond his ability to light the lamp, DeBrincat serves an important leadership role for Chicago. He wears an "A" on his chest for Blackhawks home games, while defenseman Connor Murphy serves as an alternate captain for road games.

The Blackhawks may not be going anywhere this season, but DeBrincat figures to be a centerpiece of the next great Hawks team.

Catch Alex DeBrincat in action at NHL All-Star Weekend on Feb. 4-5 in Vegas. The festivities get underway with the Skills Competition on Feb. 4 at 6:30 PM CST, which will air on ESPN. The game will take place on Feb. 5 at 2 PM CST and air on ABC.
