On Sunday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks assigned defenseman Ian Mitchell and forward Josiah Slavin to the Rockford IceHogs.

The team recalled Mitchell ahead of Saturday's game against the Dallas Stars but he did not enter the lineup. The blue-liner has one assist in six NHL games and 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 19 AHL games this season.

Slavin made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on December 2. He recorded an assist in that contest but did not crack the score sheet in his following eight games.
