The NHL has postponed the Chicago Blackhawks at Winnipeg Jets game originally scheduled for Dec. 29.
This marks the Blackhawks' fifth postponed game. The previous instances were Dec. 13 vs. Calgary, Dec. 21 vs. Florida, Dec. 23 vs. Dallas, and most recently Dec. 28 vs. Columbus. All postponements have resulted from the opposing team's COVID-19 issues.
The Blackhawks only have one player currently in COVID Protocol, goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Before the postponement, interim head coach Derek King said Fleury would not be available Wednesday if the game were to take place.
In wake of today's news, the Blackhawks' 2021 portion of this season's schedule is complete. The team last played Dec. 18 at Dallas and will not play again until Jan. 1 at Nashville.
