Blackhawks: Lankinen Gets Game One
According to Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton, goaltender Kevin Lankinen will start Wednesday's game against the Red Wings. In addition, he'll also play the whole game rather than splitting time with another goaltender.
Entering this season, Lankinen figures to be the No. 2 goalie behind Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury will be goalie 1A, but Lankinen will likely play a 1B role in 2021-22 with Chicago.
Lankinen shared a fantastic quote regarding the situation between he and Fleury this season:

Wednesday's game is the first step in Lankinen's hopeful ascent to becoming a No. 1 goaltender in the NHL. Last season as Chicago's top netminder, the Finland native played to a 17-14-5 record with a .909 save percentage and 3.01 goals against average. The 26-year-old will look to improve on those numbers this season while splitting the net with the future Hall of Famer.
