The NHL has postponed the Chicago Blackhawks at Edmonton Oilers game originally scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 18. The league made the decision "due to current attendance restrictions in certain Canadian cities."
The Blackhawks are no strangers to postponements. Before the calendar flipped to 2022, the league postponed five of Chicago's games in December due to COVID-19 complications. All of those schedule changes resulted from opponents' COVID situations.
The Jan. 18 postponement is the second Blackhawks' road game in Canada that will need a new date. The NHL plans to reschedule the game when attendance restrictions aren't as strict.
