The NHL announced a schedule tweak that affects a pair of Central Division foes. The Chicago Blackhawks at Nashville Predators game on April 16 will now start at 11:30 AM CT. The game's original start time was 5 PM CT.
When the two teams meet in mid-April, they will be playing for different purposes.
The Predators currently hold the first Western Conference wild-card spot. They will be looking to collect every point possible as they aim to maintain or improve their playoff position entering the final two weeks of the regular season.
On the other hand, the Blackhawks will be in full-blown development mode. With a rebuild on the way, several notable names on the current roster could be playing elsewhere after the trade deadline. That means multiple Chicago prospects could be up with the NHL club to gain experience.
On the season, the Blackhawks are 1-1-1 against the Predators. The game on April 16 will mark the final head-to-head battle of the 2021-22 campaign.
