Blackhawks Sign Josiah Slavin to Entry-Level Contract
The Chicago Blackhawks have added another prospect to the mix by signing forward Josiah Slavin to an entry-level contract.
The pact is a two-year deal with an $842,500 salary cap hit that runs through the 2022-23 season.
The Blackhawks selected Slavin with the 193rd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Draft. The 22-year-old forward spent the past two seasons at Colorado College where he posted ten goals and 16 assists over 56 games. Most recently, Slavin logged five goals and eight helpers over 22 games during the 2020-21 season. He put together an identical stat line in his freshman season, but he also played in 12 more games that year.

Slavin will report to the Rockford IceHogs on an amateur tryout contract immediately to participate in AHL action. If his last name sounds familiar, that's because his older brother, Jaccob, is a defenseman for a Blackhawks' Central Division foe -- the Carolina Hurricanes.
