Chicago Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira is on the mend. Khaira has been on injured reserve since taking a vicious hit from New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba on December 7.
Speaking to the media a week later, Blackhawks coach Derek King stated Khaira is back around his teammates and looking good. This update is an encouraging sign. Considering the potential severity of the injury and Khaira being immediately stretchered off the ice and transported to Northwestern Hospital, there is still no reported timetable for his return to the ice. However, doctors noted a full recovery is expected.
Jujhar Khaira has two goals in 18 games this season with the Blackhawks.
