With the No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, the Chicago Blackhawks have selected forward Frank Nazar.
The Blackhawks acquired the No. 13 overall pick by trading forward Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens prior to the 2022 NHL Draft. Their next selection will be No. 38 overall, which is the sixth pick in the second round.
Nazar is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound, 18-year-old center/right winger from the United States National Team Development Program. The No. 10-ranked prospect, according to consolidated draft rankings, carries a right-handed shot.
During the 2021-22 season, Nazar registered 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) in 24 games for the USNTDP Juniors. Additionally, he logged 70 points (28 goals, 42 assists) in 56 games for the U.S. National U18 Team. Here are Nazar's complete stats to date:
Here’s what Elite Prospects had to say about Nazar in its 2022 NHL Draft scouting report:
"Nazar makes subtle, almost im- perceptible plays at every corner of the ice to create advan- tages for his linemates – little things like dragging defenders toward him on entries to create half-ice 2-on-1s or driving the net off-the-puck to give his linemate more runway. The more attention you pay to Nazar, the more you appreciate his offensive genius."

Nazar is committed to the University of Michigan, a college hockey powerhouse in recent years.
Frank Nazar becomes the Chicago Blackhawks' second selection of the 2022 NHL Draft. He follows defenseman Kevin Korchinski, whom Chicago selected with the No. 7 overall pick.
