A Hawkey-filled weekend awaits as the Chicago Blackhawks prepare to embark on a back-to-back set of games. Head coach Luke Richardson shed some light on his plans for the team's lineup against Buffalo and Minnesota.
Arvid Soderblom, Alex Stalock to Split Goalie Duties
As planned, Arvid Soderblom will see his first action of the NHL season this weekend. Richardson announced Soderblom will start in net for the Blackhawks on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
Due to Petr Mrazek's injury, Soderblom has been up with the Blackhawks since Oct. 21. He has not seen game action at the NHL level yet this season but has a 3.47 GAA and .903 save percentage in two AHL contests.
For Sunday's game against the Minnesota Wild, the Blackhawks will turn back to Alex Stalock in goal. He owns a 3-2 record, 3.00 GAA, and .913 save percentage in five games to begin the season.
Welcome Back, Boris Katchouk
On Friday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks activated forward Boris Katchouk off injured reserve. The 24-year-old missed the Hawks' first seven games of the season as he recovered from a left ankle sprain.
With Tyler Johnson now on injured reserve, the Blackhawks have a vacancy to fill in the forward group. Luke Richardson announced that Katchouk will make his season debut Saturday at Buffalo and Jujhar Khaira will be a healthy scratch.

This weekend will mark the Blackhawks' second set of back-to-back games this season. They'll visit the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday and host the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. Both games will get underway at 6:00 PM CT and air on NBC Sports Chicago.
