The Chicago Blackhawks will play their second preseason game Wednesday when they visit the Detroit Red Wings. The team announced its roster, which mostly consists of players who did not skate in Tuesday's contest.
As expected, the "main group" of Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Seth Jones, and Connor Murphy will not suit up.
Instead, the likes of Lukas Reichel, Philipp Kurashev, Jujhar Khaira, and Sam Lafferty will take the ice in Detroit.
Two players from Tuesday's roster will play against the Red Wings. The Blackhawks want to get an extended look at a pair of 2022 draft picks. Highly touted first-rounder Kevin Korchinski will get another shot on the blue line. Samuel Savoie, a third-round selection, will have another opportunity to display his scrappy ways up front.
In net, the Blackhawks will turn to Jaxson Stauber and Arvid Soderblom. Petr Mrazek and Alex Stalock split goaltending duties Tuesday.
The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings will face off at 6:30 PM CT from Little Caesars Arena. Chicago will not have a TV broadcast, but Bally Sports Detroit Extra will air the game.
