Entwistle, Regula Added to Blackhawks' Taxi Squad

Ahead of a three-game stretch with Carolina, the Blackhawks have assigned Entwistle and Regula to the taxi squad. Tomkins returns to Rockford.

A day after the Rockford IceHogs welcomed their fans back to BMO Harris Bank Center, a few roster moves were made to help the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks have re-assigned forward MacKenzie Entwistle and defenseman Alec Regula to their taxi squad from their AHL affiliate. The club also moved goalie Matt Tomkins back to Rockford.

Entwistle has been playing well in Rockford lately. Through 22 games, he has totaled 12 points, four of those being goals.

As for Regula, who scored a goal on Saturday against the Grand Rapids Griffins, it's a similar narrative. He has been very good in this recent stretch of games. Despite just four points in 16 games, Regula's presence has been growing over the past couple of games.

Tomkins will rejoin the IceHogs, who have leaned on Cale Morris and Ivan Nalimov between the pipes. Look for Tomkins to get some playing time in the crease as Rockford's season comes to a close.

These moves come just after defenseman Adam Boqvist suffered a wrist injury, as well as before a three-game stretch against the Carolina Hurricanes that will begin on Monday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
