Jokiharju to Play for Team Finland at Worlds

The 19-year-old defenseman will represent his home country at the IIHF World Championships

Blackhawks defenseman Henri Jokiharju will be lacing the skates up for his home country of Finland when the IIHF World Championships get underway on Friday in Slovakia.

The 19-year-old posted 12 assists and a 54.3% Corsi-for in 38 games for the Hawks this past season before finishing the year in Rockford.

He recorded one goal and 11 assists in 15 games for the AHL club. Many Hawks fans were rightfully disappointed with the front office’s choice to demote him, but the World Championships will provide another opportunity for him to compete against some of the top talent in the game.
