Early on Wednesday morning, news surfaced that Patrick Kane's departure from the Chicago Blackhawks was delayed for now. However, his agent Pat Brisson, who also represents Jonathan Toews and Seth Jones, issued an interesting statement on Wednesday.
According to Brisson, Toews and Jones are taking the same approach as Patrick Kane entering this season. All three players control their own destiny due to no movement clauses, so this statement certainly stirs speculation. Toews and Kane are entering the final year of their deal while Jones is entering the first year of his monster eight-year deal worth $9.5 million per season.
As discussed extensively on the Four Feather Podcast, Jonathan Toews is likely gone at some point this season. He is such a competitor and wants to win. That said, Kane might want to stick around and Seth Jones' contract is very difficult to move given the term and dollars.
According to this report, the Blackhawks' big three are not going anywhere for now. However, if the season goes awry, maybe one, two, or all of them are on the move at this upcoming season's trade deadline.
