The Chicago Blackhawks will be without Patrick Kane for the remainder of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The team did not specify a reason for Kane's early departure in its update ahead of the third period.

Kane began the game skating on the Blackhawks' top line with Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou. Through two periods, he had two shots on goal and two penalty minutes in 12:57 of ice time.

The Blackhawks are now down to 10 forwards without Kane. Tyler Johnson took warmups but did not suit up due to a non-COVID illness. Caleb Jones, a defenseman, entered the lineup as a forward as a result.
