Quick Hitter Preview: Blackhawks at Penguins
The Blackhawks look for their first win of 2019 when they visit the Penguins tonight. The Hawks took the last meeting between the two teams by a score of 6-3 at the United Center on December 12th. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM central time.
Three Things
- Yesterday, the Blackhawks assigned Dylan Sikura and Andreas Martinsen to Rockford. Drake Caggiula is expected to play in his first game for the Hawks and Chris Kunitz will draw back into the lineup. It is worth noting that the Penguins will be honoring their 2009 Stanley Cup Champion team in a pregame ceremony, so Kunitz seems to be in the lineup for sentimental reasons.
- The Penguins come into this game scorching hot. They are currently on an 8-game win streak and have lost only one of their last 11 contests since falling to the Blackhawks in mid-December.
- The Hawks had an atrocious game in terms of possession on Thursday night against the Islanders, in which they generated 21 shots on goal while allowing 50. Collin Delia stole them a point by making 47 saves, but they cannot fall into such a rut tonight if they want to put an end to the Penguins winning streak.
