Quick Hitter Preview: Blackhawks at Rangers
After losing an ugly game on Monday night in New Jersey, the Blackhawks will close out their quick east coast swing when they visit the Rangers at Madison Square Garden tonight. The Hawks enter tonight's contest on a four-game losing streak, while the Rangers are coming off a 6-2 thumping of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 PM central time.
Three Things
- The opponent to watch tonight will be Rangers first line center Mika Zibanejad. He recorded a four-point game, potting two goals and throwing two assists, on Tuesday against Carolina.
- It will be a battle of brothers at second line center tonight. Dylan Strome's older brother, Ryan, will be the man in the middle for the Rangers second forward group. Ryan has posted seven goals and six assists in 45 games to Dylan's ten goals and 12 assists, so the Hawks center has some trash-talking ammo to direct at his big brother.
- Despite the recent Blackhawks slump, the power play has been one positive trend. They have tallied on the power play in six straight games.
