It's a Saturday night showdown at the United Center between the Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights. The Hawks are coming off their second straight loss, while the Knights just had a seven-game win streak snapped by the Sharks on Thursday night. Vegas has taken both contests against Chicago so far this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM central time.
- After missing Wednesday night's game with an illness, Brent Seabrook is expected to return to the Blackhawks lineup tonight. Duncan Keith missed yesterday's practice due to an illness, but he should be good to go tonight. Henri Jokiharju is back in the mix on the blue line after returning from the World Junior Championships, so Brandon Davidson will likely be the odd man out for the Hawks defense. There is still no timetable on Gustav Forsling, who has been placed on injured reserve (upper-torso injury).
- The Golden Knights drive incredibly effective possession. They rank third overall in 5-on-5 high danger chances-for with 450. The Blackhawks have allowed the most 5-on-5 high danger chances against (511), so look for this one to be another high-scoring affair.
- Patrick Kane is on fire lately. He has eight points over his last five games and 19 in his last ten. The Blackhawks lone All-Star comes into this game with 58 points on the season, ranking seventh overall in the NHL. His cross-ice connection with Alex DeBrincat is growing stronger every game and it's a beautiful thing to see.
