Quick Hitter Preview: Blackhawks vs. Islanders
After finally snapping their five-game losing streak with an 8-5 win against the Capitals on Sunday afternoon, the Blackhawks will play their final game before the All-Star break tonight when they host the New York Islanders. The Isles come into this contest having won a five in a row and sitting atop the Metropolitan Division standings. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM central time.
Three Things
- The first meeting of the season between these two teams in New York was a one-sided affair in favor of the Islanders. The Hawks were outshot 50-21, but a 47-save performance by Collin Delia and a few timely goals helped send it to overtime to salvage a point.
- After posting 10 points over his last three games, Patrick Kane was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week. He and Jonathan Toews played together on the top line and combined for 10 points in Sunday's win over Washington. With the Blackhawks lack of depth scoring, the big guns will have to continue lighting up the scoreboard for this team to win games.
- The Islanders have found their groove as of late. In addition to their five-game winning streak, they have gone 8-2-0 over their last ten. It will be a tall task for the Blackhawks but expect them to hold nothing back as they head into the extended All-Star break after this one.

Laugh It Off
The Blackhawks have had their fair share of questionable front office decisions over the years, but Edmonton is in complete disarray right now.
