According to John Buccigross of ESPN, the Chicago Blackhawks are expected to sign Boston College forward Mike Hardman on Tuesday.

Hardman, an undrafted free agent, posted 44 points (22 goals, 22 assists) in 58 games over two seasons at Boston College. The 22-year-old winger from Hanover, Massachusetts stands at 6-foot-2, weighs 198 lbs, and carries a left-handed shot.

According to NHL prospects writer Cory Pronman of The Athletic, Hardman is an offensive-minded forward who possesses playmaking ability in tight areas. Speed is a knock on his game that left teams skeptical on draft day, however.

This potential signing would add more forward depth to a defenseman-heavy Blackhawks' prospect pool. Hardman will likely have to spend time in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs for further seasoning considering his status as an undrafted free agent, but the Blackhawks clearly see potential in his game that they wish to unlock.

UPDATE: 3/30/21, 1:30 PM CDT - The Blackhawks officially announced the signing of Mike Hardman. The pact is a two-year entry-level deal that carries a $912,500 salary cap hit through the 2021-22 season. Hardman will join the Blackhawks taxi squad immediately.
