Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad joined the team on the ice for the first time in almost a month today.

Saad has been sidelined since December 19th after suffering an ankle injury in a game against the Winnipeg Jets. He was given a four-week timeline, so his return to the ice is right on time.

After the Blackhawks win in Montreal on Wednesday night, head coach Jeremy Colliton stated that if any of the injured players were to return to game action on Saturday, they would have to participate in practice on Friday.

Dylan Strome was placed on injured reserve yesterday and did not participate in practice today, so he will clearly not return in time for the matchup with the Maple Leafs. Brandon Hagel was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs as the corresponding move and will likely draw into the lineup tomorrow night.

As Colliton stated, Brandon Saad is questionable for tomorrow night's contest, but will likely be back in action before the All-Star break. When he does return to the lineup, he will offer a huge boost to the forward corps. Before the injury, he posted 11 goals, eight assists, and an outstanding 6.1 relative Corsi-for percentage over 36 games. Official rulings on who's in and who's out will come tomorrow.
