The Chicago Bulls are only nine games into the 2021 NBA season. Why would some say the tenth contest of the season is a must-win?
Well, the Bulls are currently on a two-game skid heading into a game against the 7-3 Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls, who are 6-3, have dropped consecutive games against the Philadelphia 76ers. The first loss happened in Philly, and the other here in Chicago.
Playoff teams show resiliency when down. Hopefully the Bulls can rebound a get a win over one of the top Eastern Conference teams tonight.
After starting the season 4-0, the Bulls have won just two of their last five games. The bench is struggling to score and big man Nikola Vucevic is struggling mightily from the floor. With a red-hot Nets team on a five-game winning streak coming into the United Center tonight, the Bulls' mental mistakes and missed "gimmie" shots need to be at a minimum.
Though the Bulls have lost their last two, Nets' superstar Kevin Durant said Chicago has "three elite-level scorers" and a "nice bench". KD isn't taking the Bulls lightly and neither should the fan base.
The Bulls are still learning to play together and the roster was overhauled from what it looked like in 2020-21. The bench is struggling to score, but once Coby White is ready to return from his offseason shoulder surgery, that should help in that area.
From the outside looking in, it's great to see the Bulls receive praise and be taken seriously. Below is the clip of Kevin Durant talking about tonight's matchup.
