Alex Caruso

After acquiring point guard Lonzo Ball on Monday, the Chicago Bulls added guard Alex Caruso on a four-year deal. The 27-year-old's contract is worth $37 million per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Caruso has spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Texas A&M product won the 2020 NBA Championship with the Lakers, and averages 5.9 PPG, 2.3 RPG, and 2.4 APG in 18.9 MPG over the course of his career. He comes in as a nice depth option for the Bulls to have off the bench after trading Tomas Satoransky to the Pelicans earlier on Monday.

The Arturas Karnisovas/Marc Eversley tandem wants to get the Bulls back to the postseason sooner rather than later. Mix in the desire Zach LaVine has to win while taking less money and you have a front office set out on a mission. The goal for the Bulls is the playoffs this year. With star Zach LaVine now complimented by Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, and others, Chicago may be closer to postseason success than fans think.

Caruso is likely not the last move the Bulls make during the free agency period. The team has been linked to star forward Demar DeRozan, as well as other depth players that will help fill out the roster. If the Bulls front office is as serious about competing this season as they seem, then the Bulls are far from finished. Stay tuned Bulls fans, the next few days are going to be busy.
