The Chicago Bulls are coming off an embarrassing Tuesday night loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on national television. Chicago was without Zach LaVine in that game due to his continued left knee soreness. While he's still on the injury report, LaVine is probable to play tonight against the Boston Celtics. But a new name now appears on the injury report: Alex Caruso.
This morning's initial injury report included LaVine (left knee), Javonte Green (quad), Derrick Jones Jr. (left knee), and Matt Thomas (lower leg). All of those players are probable to suit up vs. Boston. But Alex Caruso's status is doubtful as he battles a back injury that will likely keep him out of tonight's game against the Celtics.
The Bulls cannot seem to shake the injury bug. It was recently announced that Lonzo Ball would miss the rest of the season -- and that includes the playoffs -- due to his knee injury. Speaking of playoffs, last night the Bulls did clinch their first playoff birth since 2017. If there is anything to be happy about right now surrounding the team, that'd be about it.
Head coach Billy Donovan has some difficult decisions to make for the last three games of the season. Does he shut everyone down until the playoffs start? Perhaps that will allow them to be as fresh as possible heading into the postseason. One thing is for sure, the Chicago Bulls will need to have everyone (aside from Lonzo) available to have a real shot in the first round.
