Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan earned Eastern Conference Coach of the Month honors for November.
Donovan led his team to a 9-7 record in November. The Bulls dealt with Nikola Vucevic's COVID-19 absence and Coby White remaining sidelined for most of the month. Chicago's tough November also included a West Coast trip against playoff-caliber opponents, during which the Bulls went 4-2.
Donovan has proven the league wrong on multiple fronts. First, NBA media heavily doubted that DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine could mesh on the court. The duo has been great all year and is one of the best tandems in the league in the fourth quarter. Additionally, the Bulls were expected to be worse on defense than they were last year. They currently rank fourth in the league on that front.
If Billy Donovan keeps this up, he will have a strong case for NBA Coach of the Year honors.
