DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak. On Monday night, the Bulls defeated the Orlando Magic behind DeRozan's 29 points. Yet, the veteran forward was not satisfied with one aspect of his game in the victory, his free throws. After shooting 7-13 from the line, he sank 250 free throws in a row after the game ended!
DeRozan has struggled with his free throws over the past five games. In 9.4 attempts per game during that stretch, he has only made 72% of his shots at the charity stripe. Through his first 25 games of the season, DeRozan averaged 7.8 attempts per game and converted at an 89% clip from the free-throw line.
Such a display just speaks to the professionalism and competitiveness of DeMar DeRozan. The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week is gathering serious MVP consideration. DeRozan has been on another level this season and his work in the gym and on the court is proving to be contagious to all of his teammates.
